The parcel bomb discovered in late October in a plane made a stopover on the regional airport in the East Midlands and English who came from Yemen was scheduled to explode “over the U.S. east coast, British police announced yesterday.

“A detailed examination showed that if the explosive device would be activated (as was planned), this would have happened at 10.30 (11.30 GMT) on Friday October 29. If the device was not explosive withdrew from the plane, activation could occur over the U.S. east coast, “said Scotland Yard.

Cargo plane, the package containing the bomb landed on the airport in East Midlands (central England), arriving in Cologne, at 01.13 GMT. The parcel was defused at 06.40 GMT, police said, which is about three hours before the scheduled blast.
