Tens of thousands of North Koreans have fled the communist country

South Korea announced Monday that North Korea runagate number exceeded 20,000, while the living north of the border was damaged, reports said.

A woman aged 41 years and his two sons were the last North Korean who managed to escape to the South through China, said officials from the Ministry of Unification in Seoul. Tens of thousands of North Koreans who were hiding in China.

However, it declined in the last year, given that China, North Korea’s main ally, has stepped up repatriation. According to activists, repatriated North Koreans are imprisoned, tortured and even killed.

But those who manage to flee the country in South Korea can expect a normal life. South Korean government North Korean offer integration courses, citizenship, money and help finding a job. They have to face discrimination, however.
