EU Shows Concern Over Intel Deal

Intel Corporation has almost completed the deal to purchase McAfee Incorporation, security specialist software but the officials of European Union have showed their concerns over the Intel deal and they have jumped into the matter that could delay the 7.68 billion deal.

It has been reported that the officials of EU are scrutinising the Intel deal and at least they could hold-up the contract.

The Wall Street Journal has reported on Friday that the antitrust regulation authorities of European Union showed their concerns over the Intel deal with McAfee during the initial review of the contract. The initial review could allow the antitrust regulation officers to surrender the deal for an extensive assessment.

As Intel showed their intentions to incorporate the security features of McAfee in their microprocessor chips, which are used worldwide, the antitrust regulatory authority of European Union has raised the issue that if “If McAfee, by virtue of being owned by Intel, have privileged access to those features, it could be difficult for the competitors of McAfee to compete in the market.”
