Carrefour sold its 42 stores in Thailand to 868 million euros

Casino Guichard-Perrachon has agreed to take over operations of rival Carrefour in Thailand for $ 868 million.

Stores to be taken will be added to the 111 stores owned by Casino in Thailand under the brand Big C Supercenter PCL.

For Carrefour, the operation is part of the sale of businesses in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, and could thus focus on expanding markets in China and Indonesia.

The sale price is 120% over last year recorded sales of retailer and a multiple of 13 times higher than recorded profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
